Teen Musical

*The Pirates of Penzance is a parody of operas. It is an absurd story of a young man who grew up accidentally apprenticed to a pirate as opposed to a pilot. He has come of age and it is time for him to leave the pirates when hilarity ensues. The students in the show are taking on incredibly difficult harmonies, pitter-patter-quick lyrics, clever, tricky choreography and a little bit of fun, swashbuckling, sword fighting!  Ever-so-slightly adapted by Artistic Director Caroline, this show lasts about 90 minutes with a 15 minute intermission. It is absolutely appropriate for younger audiences - in fact young kids may laugh even harder than grown ups at the non-sensical, cartoonish dealings of pirates, police and silly girls. If we could drop anvils on people’s heads we probably would have. ;)  Come laugh - we all need it!
