PDC AUDITIONS
Advanced Middle School After School Program
The fate/future of the middle school advanced cast is uncertain. We do not currently have auditions scheduled for Fall 2025. If you have questions or concerns please contact Caroline.
Our advanced program was created because it became clear that some experienced kids had an enthusiastic interest in theater and becoming better actors, singers and dancers on stage above and beyond the average participant. They had been through many, many classes and camps already with Caroline and the rest of the PDC staff where they consistently showed up with a great attitude, supported their fellow actors, learned many games and ultimately became leaders in their casts and classes.
Not every middle school student is as interested, capable or experienced and still deserves a chance to take part in the fun and experience the life changing benefits of putting on a show. So, two programs emerged.
A Midsummer Night’s Dream
(any students entering 8th through high school who already have a solid theater foundation)
auditions will be April 11, 12 and 13 with callbacks April 20.

**PDC has been around for 9 years! We are proud of the work we’ve done with kids in the Portland area. We adjust our programs and policies based on the desires, efforts and abilities we see in our students, feedback from families and input from our hard working, trained theater staff. As PDC grows we may change our audition policies. For now, to honor our most experienced and dedicated kids, we will not make exceptions to our qualifications.
Some perspective: In our current advanced group of 30 students, 21 of them have been in PDC camps, classes and shows since kindergarten or 1st grade. The rest of them have been in at least 4 shows with PDC. All of them have previously been entrusted with lead roles. Priority does go to kids who have shown a consistent commitment to hard work in our program.
